The Ali Bey Club Manavgat holiday resort has been dubbed “the best tennis resort in the world.” The large four-star complex is a popular destination for tennis players with an astonishing 58 courts (!) as well as several restaurants, a health spa, water park and its own beach. There are also five Padel courts, tried and tested by us. The Ali Bey Manavgat resort is easily reached from Antalya Airport on the southern Mediterranean coast of Turkey (1hr).

The Ali Bey all-in luxury package is quite something: all food (breakfast, lunch and dinner) is included, as much as you like, with an amazing choice of freshly prepared food. Fresh juices, wine, beer etc all included. The well stocked bar is entirely free and included in your package. The bar at the tennis centre – cold beer, Turkish tea, ice creams – is free. There’s even a free mini-bar in your room, with cold water and beer.

The tennis complex, which includes a show court, has staged International BJK, WTA and ITF tournaments. Our hosts will be Zuhal and Yusuf Polat of Polat Sports Organisation. They operate regular tennis holidays to Turkey from their base in Surrey. They are offering a five night package from £815, including accommodation, all-inclusive full board, and scheduled tennis activities. Please note that return flights are not included.

Ali Bey Club Manavgat Family Standard parents room

Accommodation: The rooms are all of very good standard. All the accommodation blocks have the same lay-out. There is an option for a modest upgrade, and you can also request different room combinations (twin/double) or family/group rooms (eg two connecting rooms in a suite). The upgrade fee is £100 per person for a double/twin room. £150 per person for a single room. Zuhal said: “It is basically the same room but newly refurbished. Same size, same interior, balcony etc…”

Travel/health insurance: you will need to provide up-to-date insurance details. There is a medical team on call at the resort 24/7, and a good private hospital nearby which accepts British insurance claims.

Tennis: The tennis complex is directly in front of the Ali Bey Club Manavgat hotel resort: less than 5mins walk. The clay courts are outstanding and were completely relaid in Spring. Based on a survey following the ITF World Tennis Masters Tour event in March, players chose Ali Bey Club Manavgat as the best tennis resort in the world. Outside of our organised tennis schedule, court bookings are extra/optional and can be arranged via Polat Sports Organisation at €15 per hour. Players can arrange one-to-one coaching as required. St Ann’s Tennis will offer option afternoon tennis/padel tournaments £12 per entry. All tennis balls will be provided (bring your own tennis racket!). There is a pro-tennis shop on site. The padel courts are right next to the tennis centre. Please bring your own padel racket.

Tips: the staff are excellent. When the resort closed down during Covid-19, all the staff were retained on full wages, and you get the feeling they love working there. Tips in euros are welcome (all prices in the resort are in euros), so we recommend bringing small denominations of euro notes: €5, €10, €20. We were never asked or encouraged to tip at any time, but found the service to be outstanding throughout. That was a big plus for us.
