Covid-19 Updates For Tennis Players
Please follow LTA Covid-19 guidelines at all times
The Government has implemented new lockdown restrictions for England which came into effect Thursday, November 5 and are due to end Wednesday, December 2, 2020.
The courts are now closed and all bookings from November 5 to December 2 must be cancelled. Any coaching arrangements made during this period will also need to be cancelled.
St Ann’s Tennis will seek to re-open the courts at the earliest opportunity.
The LTA are continuing to put their case for opening up tennis but until then the courts at St Ann’s Well Gardens will remain closed. See latest LTA updates here.
On the bright side, work has started on the new fence on the north side (courts 1-4) which should be finished by the time tennis resumes at St Ann’s Well Gardens.
Social distancing on court
Please maintain 2m distancing at all times. Do not gather in crowds on or around the courts. Wash your hands. Use hand sanitiser regularly. Key points from updated LTA guidelines:
- When participating in any tennis activity indoors or outdoors, participants must not mingle in groups of more than six before and after the activity, while maintaining social distancing with those from another household at all times.
- If an organiser is not able to ensure this(including when arriving at or leaving activity or in any breaks or socialising) then such events should not take place. Attendees must avoid social interaction with anyone outside the group they are with, even if they see other people they know, at all times during their visit
- The LTA recommends no more than 12 players on one full-size tennis court and surrounding areas at any one time, in order to ensure social distancing can be maintained.
