Nearly all our tournaments are Grade 5 tournaments, which are aimed at ‘good club players’, and the LTA are keen to make them accessible to players who have never played competitive tennis before. Scroll down for more information about G5 tournaments. All tournaments are ‘open’ to none members, so they typically attract players from across the county, and sometimes from neighbouring counties. All results are entered into the LTA national ranking system. We host Grade 5 singles and doubles tournaments. There are several players at St Ann’s who are capable of winning at that level!

All tournaments are subject to LTA competition regulations and entry conditions.
What is an LTA Grade 5 Tournament?
Level: Introductory local, club, or county-level competitions.
Audience: Best for players looking to compete in their first rankings tournament or build match experience.
Points: Results count toward your ITF World Tennis Number and earn you official LTA ranking points.
Format and Rules Duration: Typically half-day events.
Scoring: Often uses FAST4 scoring for older juniors and adults (first to 4 games wins a set, tiebreak at 3-all, no-advantage deuce scoring).
Younger Age Groups: Under-9 categories normally use mini tennis rules (orange or red balls) and short match tiebreaks.Consolation: Most events offer a consolation bracket so you get more than one match if you lose early
