2026 saw our Division 1 Teams take to the Parks League Courts with TWO Teams in the Top Division for the first time in St. Ann’s history.

Were we apprehensive? Yes, absolutely. Excited? HUGELY.

Our First Team started strongly and consistently with new recruits Rithika and Harry Furnell stepping up strongly and Freddy Nairne and Noah Amin’s return further buoyed our chances.

Our Second Team struggled for points in the first half of the season but what we had built was an eclectic squad and this wonderful group of gals and guys refused to succumb to the pressure. What we had was TEAM SPIRIT 😊 A never know when we are done attitude and oh boy! The way each and every squad member rallied behind the Team was an absolute joy to witness.

At the start of August, even a miracle didn’t look enough to save our A’s from the dreaded relegation drop. By the end of August we were 14 points clear of the drop zone.

My favourite moments:

1. The A’s surviving. They WILL play Division 1 in 2027 😊

2. A Super Thursday when our First Team got a 4-0 win over Dyke’s First Team at Home and at the same time our A’s recorded a 4-0 win over Hove A

and

3. Noah showing up to play the final game of the season without his Tennis racket 😊 much to the amusement of the Team.

Its been an absolute joy to be Team Mates with the incredible squad. The fostering Team Spirit, several long term friendships forged, the banter + laughs AND being called their “Captain” topped it all. Watch out for this lot in 2027!

Much Love, Neeraj
