The St Ann’s Tennis Summer Box League is now open for registration. This is due to start Friday 12 June, and will run until mid August. See booking link here:
We’ve had a lot of new members this spring, and they’re eager to take you on! And there will be a reshuffle, based on natural promotion and relegation. It will be tight at the top, and competitive from top to bottom.
Our Spring Box League is still running across all six divisions. It will conclude Sunday 07 June. Watch out for the season report.
Our Summer Box League season will have improved scoring functionality.
We are introducing two new scoring options for our Box Leagues: Retired Hurt and Halved. To ensure fairness, these scores must be entered by the Tournament Director (TD) rather than the players.
1. Retired Hurt
This option allows the score to be preserved up to the point an injury occurs. This ensures players receive credit for the sets they won and the point for playing the match, acknowledging the effort put in before the retirement.
2. Halved
A “Halved” match applies to players who are tied at 1-1 in sets but run out of time to finish the match before the end of the season.
How to Claim These Scores
Players cannot select “Retired Hurt” or “Halved” themselves through the standard score input. To request these:
Contact the TD: Both players must message the Tournament Director to report the result.
Provide Verification: For Halved matches, we require a “selfie” of both players on court to prove the match took place, or a witness. Verification is required from both parties for all injury retirements.
Manual Update: The TD will verify the details and update the online standings manually. All points assigned via these new methods will count toward your final standings..
