The next Box League season is now open for registration.
The volume of matches has really picked up this month, and the tables now have a satisfying mash up of green and red. We shall acknowledge all our winners at the end of the season [30 March]. But well done everyone for taking part and playing your matches. See latest results here.
You can register for the Spring/Summer Box League via the link below. It will start Sunday 06 April, and will end Sunday 01 June 2025.
Entry £8 per player. This competition is for St Ann’s Tennis members only. When you book online, you will see the start date as 14 April. This is the latest date in which we will take entries: we usually get a few late registrations, and we’re happy to add them in. But, for clarity, the actual start of the Spring/Summer Box League season is Sunday 06 April, and we’ll aim to publish the groups a couple of days before that.
All players register via the same booking link. We will mix male and female as we did last season. We have the option of running a women’s division if there is the demand for it. Each league will include 7-9 players, and each match should be mutually arranged between players, using our St Ann’s Tennis WhatsApp groups. New players are welcome, but all players need to be club members.
Entry deadline is Wednesday 02 April 2025.
The Spring/Summer season concludes Sunday 01 June 1.

Competition details:
Each league will include 6-9 players, depending on numbers. Each match should be mutually arranged between players, using our St Ann’s Tennis WhatsApp groups. The time allocated may vary from box league to box league. In the event of bad weather, the round may be extended.
Match Format
Box league matches will be played as best-of-three sets. The first 2 sets will be regular sets with a standard 7 point tie break played if the score reaches 6 games all.
If the score is one all after 2 sets have been played, players have an option to play a third set, OR a championship tie break (first to 10 points, 2 points clear) should both players agree.
Scoring
5 points – straight sets win
4 points – 3 sets win (including wins by Championship Tie Breaker as a third set decider)
2 points – Lost in 3 sets
1 point – – Lost in straight sets
When you enter your scores, our online scoring system will automatically calculate the points, eg. 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 will automatically award four points to the winner, and two points for the loser.
As we have done before, we will assigned specific WhatsApp groups for each player in each division, so players can contact each other. Get those games played, and good luck!
