St Ann’s Tennis hosted a Sussex County League match this weekend, featuring some of our local talent playing for the Parks team.

Freddie Nairne, Noah Amin and Team St Ann’s captain Neeraj Nayar joined skipper Dominic (Saltdean) to win an important encounter.

Freddie & Noah won their doubles 6-0, 6-4, and Neeraj & Dom prevailed in their doubles encounter to secure a 3-1 victory.

Unlike the Parks League, this competition is county-wide, and all teams are either mens, or women’s, but not mixed.

The Parks team plays under the title of Saltdean (long story) and enter two teams: in Men’s Division 4 and in Men’s Division 5. All registered Parks League players are invited to take part. Find out more here.

Team captain Dominic (below, right) said: “Today was the last day of this summer’s league for the 2nd team. From 5th place with 9 points to 2nd with 12 on our last game. So many thanks to Freddie, Noah and Neeraj for helping us to a 3-1 win at St Ann’s to pull us out of the relegation zone. Hurstpierpoint could push us back to 3rd with 3 or more rubbers against Horsham, but we’re safe which is the main thing. Thanks to all those who have played.”
