Join us for Parks Cup Finals Day: Sat 22 July, from 1pm, at Queens Park Tennis Club.

This event will feature all the final matches from the 2023 Parks Cup competition (see details below).

For the first time in living memory, St Ann’s will be playing an active part in this popular, annual tennis event. Andrew Woolston & Monica Crosa, of Team St Ann’s, are contesting the Mixed Doubles finals, against Jo Marlow and Mo Jones of Dyke. The St Ann’s pair (see below) have beaten a string of high ranking pairings to reach the final of this popular competition.

“The Mixed is one of the most keenly contested competitions in the Parks Cup. Andrew and Monica were unseeded for this competition, and they’ve been playing almost exclusively against strong Division 1 pairings. So it’s great credit to them that they’ve made it all the way to Finals Day. No pair has put in more hard work and preparation, and we think they’ll be very hard to beat,” says Conrad.

St Ann’s will also have representation in the Men’s Plate final, with team member Robin Ajder (below) reaching the last two. “Robin joined Team St Ann’s team this summer. He’s a terrific addition to our line up with solid serves and groundstrokes. The final of this competition is always good quality, and we think he has a great opportunity to win some silverware.”

The Parks Cup, established in 1930, is for Parks League players only, and Finals Days is always one of the most enjoyable days of our local tennis calendar. The Queens’ clubhouse and bar will be open throughout for food, drink and ice-creams. Best wishes to our former teammates Steve Dorney and Mo Jones, who will also be taking part.
