Congratulations to Team St Ann’s on an emphatic 3½ to ½ win over Queens E in the Parks League last night.
St Ann’s registered their first victory in the Parks League since 2017, thanks to straight set wins by their Mens and Ladies pairs, plus their Mixed 2 pair. The home team were only denied a clean sweep when the Mixed 1 match was ended by the setting of the sun. Their third set decider finished 5-5 in the darkness!
St Ann’s first match last week with King Alfred’s ended in a 2-2 draw. Our next match is away to Saltdean Tuesday 4 May.
Thanks to all our brilliant players: Cazzie, Danielle, Mark, Peggy, Will, Anthony, Phil, Danni, Steve and Roxy. Can St Ann’s dream of promotion from Division 4 in its first season back in the competition?
“This was a very encouraging all round performance in which every player contributed,” says Conrad (Team Captain). “There will be tougher challenges ahead, but this was enormous fun, and promising for the future. Thanks to our friends from Queens for four excellent matches played in the best spirit of the Parks League.”
